Green Built In

The HERS Index measures a home's energy efficiency and is the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home's energy performance. A higher score is less energy efficient with 100 being the standard score. So a home with a HERS Index Score of 70 is 30% more energy efficient than a standard new home. Mandalay homes have much lower standard HERS ratings than other national home builders who only meet the requirements for EPA Energy Star certification. With a minimum score of HERS 50, every home we build is 50% more energy efficient than Energy Star guidelines and rated Zero Energy Ready.
