Award Winning Homes
Mandalay Homes is one of the most awarded homebuilders in the nation for energy efficiency & indoor air quality. With more than 1,000 ZERH certified homes closed, energy-efficiency and sustainability is the foundation of everything we do.
A Good Foundation
Quality begins at the foundation and so does energy efficiency. The average home loses a lot of heat through the concrete slab. We address this loss by using slab-edge insulation, reducing thermal loss into the surrounding soil.
Aside from the benefits of reducing energy demand and lower energy costs, slippers are optional when getting up for a midnight snack.
Sealed Up Tight
One of the keys to energy efficiency is keeping the energy (heating/cooling) in the home. An air leak is an energy leak. Every Mandalay home uses safe non-toxic spray foam insulation in the exterior walls and the underside of the roof. Spray foam is not only a superior insulator, it helps to seal air gaps batting or blown-in insulation.
The next step to ensure we have the tightest home envelope possible is the use of AeroBarrier. This innovative process pressurizes the home and introduces an aerosolized sealant that is forced into even the tiniest crack that can leak energy. The result is one of the tightest homes on the market.
High Efficiency Windows
Natural light is vital to a bright, inviting, and healthy home. Through the use of efficient low-E windows and creative architectural design Mandalay Homes offers a wide range of window, patio door, and sliding glass wall options on our homes. We can let the light in and keep the heat out.

Good energy efficient home design should be like good special effects in movies – when done right, you shouldn’t notice them, just enjoy the overall experience.
There are many design elements of a Mandalay home that you would not immediately recognize as energy features. Such as extended covered patios, structurally shaded front entrances, and reduced roof penetrations. Through creative architectural design we make the homes we build more beautiful and more efficient.
